Tomorrowland, the science fiction adventure mystery movie inspired by a Disney theme park attraction of the same name, is scheduled to hit the theater screens on May 22, 2015. Originally titled 1952, the film tells the story of “A teenage girl, a genius middle-aged man (who was kicked out of Tomorrowland), and a pre-pubescent girl robot attempt to get to and unravel what happened to Tomorrowland, which exists in an alternative dimension, in order to save Earth.”

Directed by Brad Bird based on a screenplay he co-wrote with Jeff Jensen and Damon Lindelof, the film is headlined by George Clooney as Frank Miller, the middle-aged man who was kicked out of Tomorrowland when he was a boy (played by Thomas Robinson). Raffey Cassidy will play the role of the teenage girl Athena while Britt Robertson will play the part of the pre-pubescent robot Casey and they will both be helping rank in his Tomorrowland quest. Hugh Laurie is David Nix, the main villain in the movie who kicked out Frank when he was a boy and who becomes mayor of Tomorrowland. Others in the cast include Kathryn Hahn, Tim McGraw, Keegan-Michael Key and Judy Greer.

The movie wrapped up filming in February. Asked to say something about the film during Reddit’s AMA (Ask Me Anything). George Clooney said: “”I literally have a harness on and I’ve been hanging from 30 ft from 4 different blue screens and literally as we are talking they are all staring at me because I had to get down to do this. I have all these wire hanging off of me….Brad is a really good guy with a wild imagination. If I don’t screw it up it will be a great film. You have to be careful what you say because everything is top secret, so I don’t want to ruin it by telling you that everyone dies in the end. Oops, I’ve said too much.” But of course, everyone knows that Clooney is a habitual prankster.

Not caught up with the sci-fi drama Under the Dome yet? Better get on that, because the Season 2 premiere is coming up fast: June 30. The series comes straight from the brain of thriller legend Stephen King, which is enough reason to watch on its own — after all, he brought us Carrie, The Shining, and many other horror classics, not to mention the TV miniseries The Stand.

In case you’re already convinced, as you should be, make sure you don’t miss the premiere. Set a reminder with NextGuide!

Still in need of some persuasion? Here are four reasons why you must tune in for Under the Dome’s big Season 2 premiere: “Heads Will Roll.”

1. Stephen King Himself Wrote the Episode. As if it weren’t enough to write the novel of Under the Dome, Stephen is signed on as executive producer of the series — but he’s taking the Season 2 premiere to the next level by writing it personally. He also makes a cameo appearance in the episode as a diner patron.

2. Two Characters Die. This isn’t necessarily a thing to be excited about, we know. But do you really want to miss an episode with two big sendoffs? Apparently, the deaths are “Dome favorites.”

3. You’ll Get to Meet New Characters. Right off the bat, we’ll meet Sam Verdreaux, Big Jim’s (Dean Norris) brother-in-law, played by Eddie Cahill (CSI:NY). We’re not sure exactly when at least three other new characters arrive, but we imagine we’ll meet one or two of ’em during the premiere. Here’s who we know about: Pauline, possibly Pauline Rennie (Junior’s mom), played by ER’s Sherry Stringfield, and schoolteacher Rebecca Pine — plus Melanie, a potential love interest for Joe (Colin Ford) played by Grace Victoria Cox. (Sidenote: Grace is real-life buds with MacKenzie Lintz, who plays Norrie!)

4. You Get to Play Along With the Internet. Place your bets, people! (Monopoly money, because we’re wholesome like that.) Fans are full of theories about the nature of the Dome and hidden meanings in the series, and nothing enhances your viewing experience like a little high-stakes idea-trading. Vulture rounded up some of the best ones, including, but not limited to: Angie’s (Britt Robertson) actually dead (“The Sixth Sense Theory”), aliens are saving the town from an earth-destroying catastrophic event, and that the dome itself is alive. Don’t miss out on the triumph of mega-fans being proved right, and the crushing defeat of others.

Under the Dome premieres Monday, June 30 at 10 p.m. ET/PT (9 p.m. CT) on CBS.
